Mashable awards and finalists 2011

Mashable let its readers to vote for the best services for the 5th time and here are the winners and finalists.

The Best Social Network was Facebook
(other finalists were Twitter, Badoo, Diaspora, Google+,Tumblr and Livejournal).

Up-and-Coming Social Media Service (a service that is currently experiencing major growth but has not yet received massive mainstream attention) was Crowdtap
(other finalists: Empire Avenue (my friends have just found this), Banjo, Trakt, Chime.in, Summify and my own favorite of these: Paper.li)

Must-Follow Business Personality on Social Media was Bill Gates
The winner was a business personality or executive who best uses Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Google+, Tumblr or other mainstream social networking sites. The other nominees were Dave Kerpen, John Heald, Clara Shih,Sonny Ganguly,Avi Savar and Kathy Ireland)

Must-Follow Non-Profit on Social Media was The Trevor Project others being Teach for America, HRC, GLAAD, Joyful Heart Foundation, One Campaign and Fuck Cancer.

Must-Follow Politician on Social Media was Barack Obama others being Cory Booker, Ron Paul, Buddy Roemer, Bernie Sanders, Herman Cain, Narendra Modi.

Best Smartphone was iPhone 4S others being Samsung Galaxy SII, HTC Thunderbolt, HTC Sensation, Samsung Galaxy Nexus Prime, BlackBerry Bold 9900 and Motorola Droid Razr

Best Mobile Game was Super Junior Shake (best game designed for play on either a smartphone or tablet) others being Angry Birds, Parallel Kingdom, The Adventures of Timmy: Run Kitty Run, Cut the Rope, Pocket Legends and Cows vs Aliens.

Most Useful Mobile App was IMO Instant Messenger others being Zocdoc, eBuddy Xms, Trapster, Waze, Mobile Inspector and Wunderlist

Most Innovative Mobile App was Vlingo (others TagWhat, Mobile Inspector, Shopkick, Zaarly,#Gravity Social Client for Symbian and Gigwalk

Most Useful Tablet-Based App was Flipboard. Others: IMO Instant Messenger, Trulia, Slideshark, Quickoffice, Tripadvisor, Houzz and Flipboard

Best New Gadget was iPad 2
Others: Nintendo 3DS, Sonos Play:3, Kindle Fire, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Sifteo and Logitech Fold Up Keyboard

Viral Campaign of the Year was NoH8 Campaign
Others: Eventful.com/AlanJackson, Coca-Cola Where Will Happiness Strike Next, Occupy Wall Street, Old Spice, Kraft macaroni & cheese Twitter campaign and Diesel Facebook/QR Code campaign

Most Innovative Use of Social Media for Marketing was Coke

Best Social Movie Campaign was Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows
